If you hate package holidays as much as me, and fancy some fun in the sun in Gran Canaria, I highly recommend staying at the Neptuno Hotel. We booked rooms via the hotel website and flights directly from Easy Jet. That, together with airport transfers, came in well under the three package deals I looked at. The hotel is huge, modern, airy, and set in a horseshoe formation around a large pool. All the staff spoke good English. We had booked breakfast for each morning, but at check in were told that an evening meal was also included. The rooms were fine. Slightly small beds.
Tiled floors. Private balconies. Okay showers. Room key cards also opened a private gate at the back of the hotel, which led directly to the notorious Yumbo Centre. You could be out drinking and home in bed within 5 minutes. Meal times were hilarious. The food was fresh and plentiful, but just looked so dated. Everything was presented in the style of Fanny Craddock! But the choice was staggering. Cold buffet, hot buffet and freshly prepared items, as well as à la carte.
For the number of guests, there was almost too much. There was a large bar, which hosted entertainment each night, but we used it just for pre-evening drinks. The hotel offers fantastic value, perfect facilities and a great location. We are here currently on day 4 of a weeks holiday. The hotel is great. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and well equipped. We are on all inclusive and the food is of a good standard. Better than I have experienced before.
Drinks are not just the local brews there are international brands and you can also have local champaign too. I asked for a glass and was given a full bottle. Be aware that this is an adult only hotel. So I'd you have a problem with that then perhaps not only this hotel but this resort is not ideal for you. Lovely and helpful staff. Very easy to be here. The only downside is the noise from the Yumbo Centre every night. We used some extra super dooper earplugs, which worked well and we managed to get to sleep, but without earplugs we would have been stumped, so remember to take some with you.
The hotel supply some but they are not good for the noise from the Yumbo. Enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing time at hotel neptuno, hotel clean and tidy and the staff amenable however, it's all a bit dated from the decor and amenities to restaurant food and general service. They need to sort out the quality of the pillows plus the Wi-Fi connection and get a better selection of fruit and vegetables in the restaurant as well as a juicer and some real coffee.

We got a great room, good size with a balcony overlooking the pool. Lovely staff in general, great service and excellent food. Hotel is in a great location especially for gay guests who are looking to be on the door step of the Yumbo centre. Hotel location is good for shopping during the day and plenty of supermarkets near. If you want to exlpore the island I would recommend hiring a car, it is really cheap to rent locally and we visited Amadores and Mogan.
Lunch is a la carte and amazing at the pool bar!! Paella was made one day. You sign a bill at the end of your meals and drinks so you can see how much it would have cost well worth going all inclusive. Full English is available for breakfast. You get really good measures for your spirit drinks and you get international brands. You choose which sitting you would like for your evening meal which ensured it was never over crowded and food is fresh.
