A counteraction to such discrimination can be seen in a victory won last November, when the European Court of Justice ruled that homosexual men and women who are persecuted in their home countries could claim refugee status in the European Union. Of the many happenings around the world in the last twelve months, two countries in particular have taken measures legally, that have denied the basic human rights of LGBT people.
The countries with the highest profile in the media over the last twelve months regarding the LGBT community are Uganda and Russia. Remarkably, Uganda became one of the most successful missions on the continent, laying the foundation for their sexual attitudes today. And religion, namely Christianity, now permeates all.
